Another weekend trip to our British friends. It’s alawys so cool to cross the Channel by ferry! Since I only had two days in London this time, I wanted to really enjoy my stay and not pack to much sightseeing stuff into this weekend. But Madam Tussauds wax museum has been on my London “TO DO” list for a long time. So finely I went and I can tell you that I really had a great time there!
The Madam Tussauds London wax museum is one of the most famous and popular attractions in the capital of England. Marie Tussaud’s wax museum was founded and opened in 1835 in The Baker Street Bazaar in the immediate vicinity of Baker Street. The wax museum has been located on Marylebone Road in London since 1884. Some of the wax portraits, including the carriage of Emperor Napoleon, were irretrievably destroyed by a fire in 1925 and the air raids on London in 1940. However, several plaster molds could be saved from the flames so that the figures could be refilled. The museum was expanded to include a cinema in 1928.
